The Suiz Andre, the owner, hails from where else, Switzerland. He is an excellent chef and serves only the fresh caught seafood. His sauces are especially excellent. Small, intimate it is the perfect place for a romantic evening. It is moderate to expensive in price. Villa Romantica Charlie, originally from Germany, is the owner and operator of this fine establishment. Like the Suiz he specializes in fresh seafood. The restaurant sits right above Romantica Beach offering exceptional views and ambiance. Meals range from moderate to expensive in price.  Hotel Galeon / Hotel Contadora Both of these hotels have a full menu. The seafood is good but not always as fresh as the Suiz or Villa Romantica. However, they have a lively atmosphere where you can meet people from all over the world. At the Hotel Contadora they sometimes have an all you can eat and drink special for $15.00. A great value and well worth investigating. Most meals are moderate to expensive in price. La Sagitiros A local’s spot, La Sagitiros, serves inexpensive but good food. A favorite of locals, visitors to the island are always welcome. Entrees include chicken, burgers and occasionally seafood and beef. The ladies that cook are very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. The Shopette This is where the locals gather in mid and late afternoon for a lunch and a beer. Great hamburgers and excellent chicken dishes are their specialties. The Shopette sits on the main corner of Contadora and is a great place to people watch. Meals are very affordable. Blandys This is the place to go for breakfast and lunch. Meals are inexpensive and the food is very good. Their eggs and freshly brewed coffee are the perfect way to start the day. |
